After a week away, playing my favourite online games at http://www.diegogames.com, I am finally back. Last time, I write about some basic goalkeeping skills and their importance. We mentioned Command of Area and Aerial Ability. I will analyze some more today.
Communication is obvious that refers to your goalkeeper's relation with his defenders. A goalkeeper with high communication skills will stabilize your defense and will organize it in the most efficient way. Eccentricity skills show how "crazy" is your goalkeeper. A goalkeeper with high eccentricity skills will try to dribble the opponents or try some risky actions or getting away for his area.
Handling skill show how well your goalkeeper catches the ball. This skill is really important because a bad handling reaction can give second attacking chances, or worse easy one-on-one chances. Kicking ability shows how far your goalkeeper sends the ball. Creativity, decisions, passing and technique will determine the accuracy of the kick, but sadly there are no visible attributes for goalkeepers.
Tendency to punch and throwing are another two goalkeeping skills. Throwing skill shows how accurate are a goalkeeper's hands. In other words, how well he passes by hand to his teammates. Decisions and strength play a particular role here. A good throw needs the right decision and power to be achieved. Tendency to punch shows how often your keeper chooses to punch an aerial ball away or to catch it.
